Emergency Rooms are designed for treatment of serious or life-threatening injuries and illnesses. However, a trip to the Emergency Room for a minor injury or illness may lead to unexpected, costly bills. These facilities typically have advanced, life-saving equipment and are staffed with ER certified doctors. As a result, these types of facilities operate at a much higher cost and typically charge more for their services. You may also receive a separate bill from the facility, the doctor, or other services.
